HKCNP Northern Metropolis Network
In the 2021 Policy Address, the government pointed out the need to focus on the development of the "Northern Metropolis" covering an area of 300 square kilometers. Once fully developed, the Northern Metropolis is expected to accommodate 2.5 million people, which is about one-third of Hong Kong's current population. In response to the development opportunities in the Northern Metropolis, HKCNP has initiated "Transforming lives in Community, Renovating Churches in North District─ Kingdom Assist Based Community Development Course (KABCD)" in the North District in 2021. We invited Rev Li Hoi Ping, the chairman of the Christian North District Chinese Association, to serve as the convenor of the North District Network, connecting with over 60 churches in the North District to respond to future development needs. We are grateful that HKCNP North District Network has established sustainable and ongoing community transformation initiatives. Below are the latest news and events, and we sincerely invite you to participate:

2022-23
HKCNP collaborated with Associate Prof. Wong Hung from the Department of Social Work at the Chinese University of Hong Kong to conduct a North District New Territories Neighborhood Survey. The survey revealed issues such as impoverished living conditions of grassroots communities, underutilized resources for the elderly, and service gaps for cross-border students from Hong Kong and Mainland China. After the survey:
- A pilot program was launched, collaborating with 19 churches to establish a network in Tin Ping Estate, and address service gaps through "Love-in-Action".
- Through volunteer training organized by the Polytechnic University, 50 senior volunteers were trained to serve in Tin Ping Estate, and established the "Blessing the Neighbourhood" volunteer team.
